Handle Guy

Who is the handle guy on your team? I.e. the person closest to door, the person not on the tactical side of the door?

Strong side... side that when the door opens you see into the room instantly (no visual block).

Pretty sure it's been written about elsewhere on this forum but it depends on a few variables namely, swing direction, single or double stack.

pull door, single stack: go on door knob side

pull door, double stack: guy on hinge side opens for guy on other side

push door, double stack: guy on knob side opens
semper acer , semper velox , semper trux , semper promptus

Yeah if you were on the weak side, it would make sense you open it. Instead of someone leaning over (the fatal funnel) to open it or opening it directly into an immediate threats sight line.

if possible we use a doorknocker(battering ram), The guy operating it holds it until the element is inside, chucks it aside and stays by the door, to keep the public away as well as securing that side of the building. inside doors are rarely locked, but we still don't like to be the guy to check if its open.
