Graphic.

I think this video demonstrates why you have to be on an artery bleed-out like it's no ones business.

Yup. I've seen it happen in less than two minutes.

Nasty video... he cant be saved because he doesn't fit my first rule.

-Drag body into a place you cant be shot.
-Tourniquet the bright red blood first.
-Apply collagulent agent the darker blood.
-Apply pressure bandages on the darker bleeding wounds.
-Woundpack any remaining wounds and check before taken steps.

fuck gloves, feeling pulse and all the other guidelines.

Done this today, results come tommorow, feel fucked.

Its not very clear, but he appears to be shot 2 times. One of them being high on his upper leg/groin area, you cant tourniquet there, so applying a pressure bandage, with or without celox/quickclot seems the only way to stop that bleeding. It will take someone to apply firm pressure for a good 5 minutes as well.
The other damage he took isn't very clear/relevant. Sometimes there is no way to save somebody in the field. I assume he could have died if this happened on an operating table.

I've seen people dropping faster though, thats why they use the somali drill in our field(2 to the body, 1 in the head).

About the video: Why are those idiots killing this guy?
He's unarmed, no threat, and clearly in custody. An execution would be more humane.

Some people are just so used to violence...

Theres a good reason I chose to do work on domestic soil...

One of our units first responders(basicly over-experienced field medics) mentioned he had 'Celox-A' (applicator for Celox hemostatic agent). Its a syringe type thing with blood clotting powder. He said you can 'inject' the stuff in a small wound, and it can stop an 7,62x39 rounds injury within seconds. Also there are types of tourniquet that fit the pelvic area, to stop blood from flowing from the butt down.

I'm lucky enough never to have used these products, but they could have helped in this scenario.

Heard about it. I saw a few prototypes years ago. I'm unsure about how reliable it would be. I'd need to catch up with the latest research to see if anything has changed but no civilian paramedics here are kitted out with such gear. Same goes for the tourniquets you talk about, such as the AAT.
