Vehicle Pursuit Considerations

Post by Ryan » Tue Nov 20, 2012 11:28 am

Any considerations for a mobile, vehicle pursuit? And when you are halting a vehicle or have made it come to a complete stop?

For example I note on a some car chase videos pretty poor vehicle positioning for both vehicle cover and ability to engage a possible threat. Say one up, driver side and positioning it on the opposite side. But on most "cop chase" videos they are superb. So what do you look for?

Would anything say racing-wise apply in a vehicle pursuit? For example the background knowledge of draft, drifting, blocking, apex and lateral grip.

It would apply. If you are in a pursuit you and your adversary will probably be disobeying traffic laws and doing what is necessary to get the job done.
