Overpenetration?

"Newbie" questions incoming.
What are the disadvantages of overpenetration?
Where exactly should the operator(s) stop?
(I'm asking this mostly because no one did it before)

Over-pen. You open yourself up to "opening" or "exposing" angles in the room.

Imagine you are 1m into the room. The guy in the cupboard has the angle on the far left wall only. You're safe. Now you push up 3m. He can see you pushing up the wall. Boom.

If you charge a room, especially one full of furniture and 'hidey holes' you soon open yourself up to too much risk.

For initial entry, some say 2-3m off the door. Some say just before the hardcorner. Some say whilst in the hardcorner. Depends on room layout. If you have a pretty narrow room, you can expect to be seen from any area. If you know the layout, any 'pocket' or auxiliary which can be used to shoot from, like a cupboard/pantry or walk-in wardrobe, is an area to acknowledge. Any angle onto that would come after the entry and when you are clearing.

Good explanation, sir.
If you have `cleared' all the rooms and met no resistance, you and your entry team have probably kicked in the door of the wrong house.
