How do you probe, ruse or bait an enemy into exposing him/herself or isolating their position during or before an entry during the room prep stage?

Any specifics on probe-to-contact?

Trying to initiate contact so you can confirm enemy presence. This is rather off the cuff but like recon by fire.

I don't know what branch you serve in, but either you should be looking for your specific target(s) by stealthy reconnaissance and pacify them with overwhelming force, or either one if the situation is more predictable.
We sometimes use a megaphone to talk people out of their hiding and on their knees with their hands on their head to find out they were just scared and in the wrong place/time.
What methods of probing do you use, or know of to get suspects or targets to reveal their location or status that won't have a negative impact on your tactical advantage?
