What is the SOP for dealing with self closing doors in room entries?

Depends on tactic being utilized

Dynamic. Dosent matter... Make entry... let it close if need be, pin it when you get a chance or dis able the self close mech.

Deliberate. Pin with foot. Rather get shot in the foot than the face... Then same as before

Yeah you can door wedge. Same goes for internal defense settings where you prop open doors that give an axis of fire into a threat area.

Self closing doors that swing outwards, away from the room, are not much of a problem.
It's the self closing doors which swing inwards, into the room, that are.
(also off-topic, but relating to another recent topic; notice the Israeli stance, SOP and lack of shoulder transition in that video :D, these guys are probably ex-IDF.)

This is one of the few times I would seriously consider doing an immediate entry, if I have enough manpower that is.

A quick peek is a good solution, which Ryan suggested before. I would definitely use this if I was on my own, or had a situation where I was not in a hurry. But for situations such as hostage rescue, it's just too risky.

Another potential idea, which most of you previously mentioned, is doing a limited entry with one guy jamming the door with his foot. Don't know how effective this is, since I've never trained with it, and I am not saying it is better than the previous two solutions. Anyone have any experience training with this that could give us further insight?

Would like to hear more thoughts and perhaps more potential solutions.

Grab a hacksaw, a bushcraft knife and some scrap wood and make some door wedges. Put several in a GP pouch or something and you're set. That and a hoolie in case shit goes bad.

Last man should take the arm at the hinge, with the door open and just pull it down. this works for mechanical closing doors. with electrical you can put tape over the optical sensor. commercial closing doors sometimes need to be wedged. most brands use similar protocols for doors as assa abloy.

I'm a big fan of limited penetration but there are situations when it's not possible I.E. Overall space, opposing danger areas, and inward opening self closing doors. Whenever faced with such, the command "Rush!" is sounded and we ditch Lim Pen and go into a dynamic entry.
