My name's John, and I write thrillers for a living. I am not a reporter, and I am not a troll. I'm a guy who writes about the SF community, and I'm interested in getting stuff right. That's why I'm here.

By way of bona fides, I've never been in the military, but I'm a Navy brat, and I spent 15 years in the fire and rescue service before I got into this writing gig. In 2006, I had the honor of writing a book called SIX MINUTES TO FREEDOM with Kurt Muse, the only civilian of record ever rescued by Delta Force. The rescue came during the opening moments of Operation Just Cause--the liberation of Panama--and the book is, to my knowledge, the only book that has ever received the full cooperation of the Unit. The experience of researching and writing that book was life-changing for me. Now I write novels (fiction) about a freelance hostage rescue specialist with an extensive SF background.

I'll probably lurk more than I post. It's an honor to be here.

My name's Ben. I have no military experience, and wound up in CQB by the backdoor of being a medic. I've been in EMS since 2003 and found my way pretty quickly into the unconventional side of EMS. Currently, I work on an ambulance and also as a TEMS provider for the SWAT team in the local jurisdiction. My primary job is as a wilderness medicine and EMS educator. I stumbled on the CQB site and learned a lot, so I'm here to extend that experience. Like ThrillerScribe, I'll probably lurk moreso than seek unless a medical topic of some sort pops up. I'm here to learn what I so far know little about. However, I'm happy to be here learning from yous guys!

Hey,

I'm a 16 year old airsoft and SWAT enthusiast (civillian) from the UK.

I joined this site to learn more about CQB and the techniques and tactics behind it which I find really interesting.

I practise my skills at my house, I live on what used to be a farm so there is a large urban type area which is great for airsoft.

In the future I am interesting in joining the UK equivalent of SWAT - the specialist police officers who carry firearms in the UK (as firearms are not standard issue only certain trained officers can use them).

Hey everyone. I am 34 years old. I did two enlistments in the U.S. Marines one of which was with an anti-terrorism unit where CQB was heavily trained. I got injured and ended up getting out and getting into law enforcement. I am now on my agency's ERT team and actually help conduct quite a lot of the tactical training. I found this site while doing some research and have been very impressed with the content.

Remember, you don't move faster than you can shoot.
