Hi everyone! Nice to see a lot of LEOs here. I'm not one. I'm just someone who's interested in CQB.
I'm a middle-aged guy living in the US. I'm into self-defense, military studies, and the occasional cooking every now and then.
I look forward to my stay here. I've been lurking for a few days now and I'm enjoying what I've been reading. Hopefully, I'll be able to contribute soon!

Hi, I'm Ben
I'm 17 years old, very interested in the military and anything war related. I plan on joining the Canadian Forces once I graduate High school.
CQB is especially interesting and I really like to read about, and in the future discuss it, especially the tactics and teamwork involved.
see y'all around

Hello everybody,
I did eleven years in the British Army I was in Peaceful and not so peaceful places, I am a qualified Close Protection Officer and I am at present living
in Germany. I am a member of the German Army Reserve and also a member of an International Disaster Response unit doing USAR, also I am chief
of Security...
I always found CQB, a facinating subject, also it was a "learn or die" and now even though I am with a humanitarian help Org doing USAR, I have had situations
where we nearly had to go into E and E modus, and though unarmed there may a situation... I always to think on, what if... and plan so CQB is still very important
for me, I would have replied sooner but I was out of the country
Anyone want to get in touch be happy to Mail.
Thanks and watch your back!!!

Hello all.
Interesting forum.
I served aboard CV 62 from 1992 to 1996. I travelled around a lot, and a few years ago, a friend still in the Mil asked me to make a concealment rig for him. That has slowly snowballed into a part time business making gear.
So, rather than tactics, I would be more likely to take interest in gear related topics. Not that I don't dig some room clearing, I get the rare informal course when my friends are CONUS. And, I could certainly ask some subject matter experts, if need be. But really, I know what I don't know, and won't be throwing any BS out there.

Thank you so much for this site. I have been in law enforcement for about 15 years. I started in the prison system as a member of the prison emergency response team and stayed ther for four years. I then was hired on a police department here in NC and shortly thereafter was able to make it on the swat team. I am currently on the swat team as an operator and serve on our street crimes unit, where we deal with street level drugs and violent crimes. We also assist our vice narcotics unit with search warrants and any high risk entries that patrol may have. I have been on our department for about 12 years now. I am also a field training officer for our department.

Hello All,
Please allow me to introduce myself; I am Ken a.k.a. kilogulf59 and thank you for allowing me to join this most essential and edifying group.
For a bit about me, I am just a typical middle-aged gent who is, and always has been, interested in weapons (from lapel daggers to ICBMs) and their usage, integrated close combat methods with and without weapons, general and reasonable preparedness, and all things of that nature. In addition, I maintain a great fondness for history, the written word, classic films, and little hunting and fishing tossed in as well. Oh and I love to cook (and eat).
I am somewhat of a political activist/US Constitutionalist (especially the 2nd Amendment), and nationalist, furthermore, I am a Gun Owners of America Life Member, RWVA Member, and am affiliated with several other patriotic organizations; also, I am the founder of the original Integrated Close Combat Forum (ICCF) http://kilogulf59.proboards.com/index.cgi (soon to be closed) and THE (NEW) INTEGRATED CLOSE COMBAT FORUM http://iccf.freeforums.org Kilogulf59's ICCF Blog Spot http://kilogulf59-iccf.blogspot.com/. Currently I am active on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/Kilogulf59 and maintain an ICCF Group there https://www.facebook.com/IntegratedCloseCombat?ref=ts
For an insight into my mindset and therefore my thought process, personally I believe in simplicity and the common sense approach in all areas, to include preparedness and confrontational management. It is my express opinion that true combat is not esoteric nor is it convoluted…it is unpretentious, fleeting, and extremely brutal and that “man is THE weapon, everything else is simply an object”. As founder and administrator of the Integrated Close Combat Forum, which is a free and nonprofit site dedicated to the education of the layperson and professional-at-arms alike, I have striven to emphasize this methodology.
I will tell you that I am significantly influenced by the teachings of some of the true innovators in the Combatives field. “Shooting to Live” is my Old Testament and “Kill Or Get Killed” my New Testament, so to speak and no blasphemy intended. Of course, that would make Lt. Col. Fairbairn, Maj. Sykes, Col. Applegate, Col. Askins, Col. Jordan, S.A. Brice, Maj. Grant-Taylor, et al, the disciples should I maintain the religious analogy.
As far as my personal background is concerned, I was born and raised in Chicago so, by default, I unfortunately learned a little “confrontational management” the hard way; on the streets, mainly in what not to do…like bleed. My training experience includes Modern Arnis, Miyama Ryu Jujutsu, and FSA style combatives. Formal handgun education was initially through the Chicago P.D. Explorer Program in my youth, later as an adult I attended classes taught by a retired Chicago P.D. Firearms, NRA Certified, and Chapman Academy Instructor and the FSA combat shooting skills that I have learned on my own and with the guidance of a few select instructors in the field. Formal rifle training with the American Legion as a youngin’ and as an adult with the great Appleseed Project, which is the best training around.
