What is a so-called "link-up" point? Just curious, thats all ...

On a patrol you may have a more deliberate link-up - with a time, date and location. This may also include a resupply (resup). It may be apart of the mission plan: recce, assault phase involves a link-up for more fire/manpower pre-assault. A time, location, date, grid reference is needed per squad to prevent FF - squads come in different time intervals.
