Re: H2H Videos

Yea, a forearm strike would work well. I have also seen placing the handgun under the support hand, creating and X and driving into the suspect to knock him over. Risky because of weapon retention issues, but if done suddenly and violently, with a partner backing you up, I could see it really being ...

Re: H2H Videos

Here are some videos I would suggest: Tc4h0qcAIpE jXgCONtcQgw P-EcQ6oUxek ssdjQBfgXFQ http://www.metatube.com/en/videos/12402/pimp-VS-karate/ (can be done with handgun or long gun in one hand) This is just some simple stuff on short notice. I'm thinking about leaning heavily towards forearm strikes....

Re: H2H Videos

I have to say, I'm very unimpressed with the videos. The techniques range from showmanship, average, to totally unrealistic.

Re: Vehicle tactics...

I doubt I would put info down hear about car stops. However it would be appropriate to talk about vehicle tactics when it comes to shooting from, into, around, moving and stationary vehicles. Vehicle ambushes, high speed driving and dealing with barricades could also be talked about. You will have t...

Re: High-Threat CQB

I currently do a lot of searches with two people and employ some of the tactics shown in the video on a regular basis. I find that one guy entering and the second doing a limited pin works great. If no threats are located initially, the guy on the door goes back to covering the hallway, while the nu...

Re: Two man team videos

With all this talk about pistol wagging, I'm not sure what we are talking about anymore? I believe in slow searching for a lot of situations, but I was trained directly from Strategose International on how to do this in low light. The devil is in the detail, if you do it right he will not kno...

Re: Manila Bus Hostage Rescue

I would say there is no real excuse for missing the Sniper shot, assuming it really presented itself. Usually this is a fault of the boss not the operator. We don't have that problem, our snipers have taken out a number of suspects in the last few years.

Re: Voice Commands

I'm just kidding, it's like in the movies when the bank robber tells the hostages to cover their eyes and count to five hundred, then leave in fifteen seconds.

Get it?

A joke? :D

Re: Two man team videos

Great info. I've seen it before, but still great info. The only thing I have never understood is wagging the pistol up and down while pieing the corner. For the life of me I do not understand why somebody would do that.

The techniques in the video are similar to what I have been trained to do. I suppose we might have had the same teacher. You would PM me on that one.

Have you ever told them to look away and count to 1,000. Then just leave when they are on 15?

Re: Voice Commands

Wow. I have never heard of counting. It would distract them. I doubt I would use it, because I do tell suspects to do anything I'm not capable of making them do if they don't comply. Where I work is a bad, bad part of town and you probably wouldn't get people to count for you. But to each his own. A...

Very good article. A team that was struggling could read this and get several training ideas and develop SOPs for different entries.

First of all. Thanks. I'm sure you this is a voluntary position. Make sure you focus on you most important job of taking care of the injured and keeping yourself out of the line of fire. As far as firearms training, focus on the safety rules. If you want the guys on the team to have confidence in yo...

Re: Dogs

It really can cause a problem. No matter what you do you stand a chance of getting bit. Although a bang usually takes the fight out of them.

I really hate opening a door and finding a big mean dog behind it. It's like a game show and you ask yourself, "What's behind door number one?"
