Re: Magazines

I rocked with double stacked mags for a while. My conclusion is that it makes sense if: 1. You are conducting a short mission. For instance you are going to jump out of a vehicle and clear a house. The extra weight really isn't an issue during short missions. 2. Any situation where you keep a long g...

Re: Why is the MP5 a popular choice for CT teams?

I have fired thousands and thousands of rounds through MP5's. Including MP5A2's, MP5SD's and MP5Ks. I am also an instructor on this weapon system. The difference between handling an MP5 vs most other weapon systems is like the difference between driving a high end sports car vs a pickup truck. Wheth...

Don't forget hip shots also. Not covered by body armor, very painful. You may not take him out right away but I doubt he will follow you down the street.

Re: Best way to nautralize a threat?

Here is a simple way to think about it. If you double tap and he falls, there is no opportunity to do the mozambique drill, unless you want to complete it while he is on the ground. Just drop him and go to a head shot as soon as possible if necessary.

Re: New entry technique

Interesting, I have never seen this either. On the surface it looks like it has potential but I do not like the muzzle sweeping. The guy doing the limited pin only has a second or two to make a shot, then operators are running past his muzzle. Not good. It looks like you aren't gaining anything beca...

Re: transition to a handgun

Train yourself to not look at your holster. The article doesn't give any good reason to look at your holster. If you HAVE to take a quick look at the holster then do so, but there really isn't any need for this accept for very novice shooters. Maintaining an eye you your threat area is a very old te...

I suppose I wasn't thinking of vehicle takedowns at the time I wrote it. I was think more of E&E, pit maneuvers, road blocks, J turns, cornering, abs breaking and steering maneuvers, and skid recovery. My bad.

Re: Knee pads

Knee pads come in real handy when you are shooting and training all day long.

On real entries when you are only going to be wearing them for a few minutes, why not. It really helps if you climb through a window or half to take a knee.

I say yes.

Re: Blind Firing, Applicable?

I don't prefer the term "blind fire" or "suppressive fire." I like the term "target directed fire". This technique will make people safer, so I don't mind sharing it because I don't see how it could be misused. If a threat is in a window, or hiding near a window and you are outside a residence and w...

Re: CQB/CT Sniping and Marksmanship

Camouflage and concealment are just as important to LEO snipers as it it so Military snipers. The fact that LEO snipers are deploying closer to the target means they need to be extra vigilant about Camouflage.

I'm sure if they wanted him alive he would be alive. I don't think he would have stood trial and been allowed to live. Ending it swiftly avoids a lot of riots, recruiting, and explosions that would have occurred while he was on trial.

Re: Military vs Law Enforcement CQB

Police are doing more military type stuff and the military is doing more Police type stuff. The tactics and equipment are more closely related than ever, although there still are differences. To me one of the major differences is the area around the building entry itself, LEO's like myself are not l...

Re: Quick video, quick question.

I try not to be too critical of teams. However one thing I noticed on the second video at 1:07-14, the guy wearing the breecher pack is supposed to be watching the long threat in the hallway but he can't help but keep taking his eyes of his AO to look and see what the rest of the team is doing. I'm ...

Re: British House Assaulting

I would suggest doing whatever tactic you understand and want to tryout. Airsoft isn't real life so you can afford to make mistakes and take casualties. You will take casualties if you use this for airsoft though, heavy casualties. Keep in mind this tactic is used in conjunction with surprise(not go...
