Re: Building/room clearing in a prison setting

Dynamic entry in a jail cell seems unwise because of the non conventional weapons and tactics prisoners may use. In our training we discussed mainly bodily and other fluids, furniture, improvised stabbing weapons and (improvised)blunt object objects, besides the strength of a man cornered. Our penal...

Re: Over-reaction or Under-reaction Examples?

At what level? More then necessary unit strength? Over use of less-then-lethal force? Overuse of lethal force? Too much focus on lesser threats? Actions resulting in unreasonable collateral damage? Actions resulting in unreasonable personal damage? I have personal experience with all, and more. Bad ...

But I think that may be the closest to a "J. Bond Girl" we may encounter here I don't mind you describing it as 'female'.

Re: I wanted to thank you.

LOL. I typed about 4, maybe five minutes, but then discovered it was political in nature.

Therefore I used some of the best keys on my keyboard and ended up with this.

Re: I wanted to thank you.

Thanks for answering my question, but let´s stay out of politics further. It´s as far away from CQB as imaginable. You can´t lie or bribe yourself to your objective and safely back unless you´re in politics.

Re: Limited vs Immediate Video

In what way do you not agree a (hand)gun's lethality/firepower or capacity to kill or wound is not directly related to its magazines capacity(and caliber)? With a derringer one can't kill many people, even if its was .50 cal. A Glock 18 with a drum magazine has the potential to injure or kill many m...

Re: I wanted to thank you.

I've trained with Russians before, and they are just my kind of people, direct and honest. I don't care much about Vladimir, as long as he doesn't bother me. I'm not in Russia, or a citizen there, so I think I'm good. You're new president is kind of funny, I'm glad he won the elections, because his ...

Re: Limited vs Immediate Video

As a general rule an average firearm hold 15 rounds. 3 rounds are enough to kill, 1 may be enough to disable you. In this video it seems obvious the 'bad guy' has such a good advantaged position he may be able to take out 4 men entering. if there's large furniture around it may be more then 4 disabl...

Re: ESA/TD

Not to attack anyone, but I fail to recognize all your point-precise descriptions of going into a room with an unknown threat. It worries me to see you all talk about entering areas where the threat is unknown. The cause may be all mine because I do this daily, but I think in theory its all valuable...

Re: I wanted to thank you.

I got a PM message about an US electoral subject. Not only do you already have a clown for boss, and influencing is impossible/irrelevant now, but this bot manged to PM me. Skipping currency gain, and going straight to a political subject its highly possible its of Russian origin. I have no problems...

Re: Suspect(patient) Unstable, house full of natural gas.

I thank you for your response, but I (slightly)disagree on some points. I would love to discuss them further. - We are aware of the 'suicide by cop' phenomenon, but still think the patient/suspect should have this as a choice in his/her position. As a unit we have a huge tactical advantage, and try ...

Re: Building/room clearing in a prison setting

I have sent you a Private message. If you think this forum is full of active High Risk Warranty Ops, of Special Forces Ops you may be wrong, this is about CQB, and related discussion, not a LEO forum or something. That doesn't mean people here don't have much knowledge about CQB. As the name says it...

Re: Building/room clearing in a prison setting

The scenario you post sounds like an execution. You don't need mp5's in a prison, neither do you need 9mm sidearms. I assume your post is fake, because bringing (automatic) firearms into a prison is against regulations almost everywhere. and may ever only done when a whole prison is taken over by th...

Re: Building/room clearing in a prison setting

If they have a hostage, you negotiate right? What are they going to do, they're already in prison... In my country we have a special unit for that sort of thing, but also assisting in transport of detainees. I've seen them work. It goes a little like the following, I have no hands on experience with...

Re: Footwork and Takeoff

In an average week I get to clear between 12 and 20 buildings. Residences, drug labs or pot farms and public buildings with a terrorist/bomb threat. I am positive nobody on my team thinks of footwork or the possibilities of using a door frame when entering and clearing any structure. Regardless we a...
