Re: Thoughts on karambit?

Can you explain 'dichotomy' in your own words? i can make out its meaning from the context, but its not in my vocabulary, and i think its rarely used. Anyways i have some courses to, im a: Dutch red cross first aid volunteer including reanimation. Had military training in self aid and comrade aid. A...

Re: The Carry

Thats a good point, but in my experiences not a real problem. the person is likely to have more immediate trouble. Those handles are made to drag an injured person into a better spot to inspect his wounds. not to carry someone to a medevac.

Hard to bandage hard area's

Like armpits or groin, attached to the torso, but not an extremity. How do you deal with massive arterial bleeding on places you cant tourniquet or bandage? you have: 1 celox or quickcloth z-fold 2 celox or quickclot powder 3 4" and 6" israeli bandage 4 2x CAT tourniquet 5 2x chest valve Not much mo...

Nasty video... he cant be saved because he doesn't fit my first rule. -Drag body into a place you cant be shot. -Tourniquet the bright red blood first. -Apply collagulent agent the darker blood. -Apply pressure bandages on the darker bleeding wounds. -Woundpack any remaining wounds and check before ...

Re: Intravenous Access Practice

Have you served? In the last defence unit i was in we learned by sticking IV needles in eachother, and see if blood flows. Its usefull to know if your field medic is out of action or the subject.

I guess the best awnser would come from iv drug users, but they shouldnt be here.

We have a app called ZHKH(trans: Self Help Comrade Help) in the play store for adroid. Its about use and training of using things in your IFAK like:Tourniquet, Pressure bandage, clotting agent, breath of life, wound gaskets(let gas in or out) etc. Its more for a 1 pound IFAK then a complete ambulanc...

Re: Watch your step

We have special psychologists and psychiaters for (ex-)military, but what i've seen i can only talk to them. being back in society i still have mayor problems with what i've seen and done. Talking doesn't help, and medication would disqualify me from my job. I struggle. Alot after today... I wont go...

Re: 5 Myths About Tourniquets

Youre a medic, i'm a soldier. Tourniquets are a very scetchy method of stopping bleeding. However if you use celox/quickclot, and woundpacking and it doesnt stop the bleeding you hove few options don't you? If you know how to put pressure on all mayor arterys and a pressure bandage, clotting compoun...

Re: Islamism/Jihadism

Do you have any idea how many muslims are in France, and how few act violently? its 0,00000? percent at most, that one in a million. I think its even less. The chances of you getting victimised in France by terrorist attact is lower then you flying anywhere as a tourist and have a plane crash. then ...

Re: Types of Doors and Windows

This link is extremely incomplete, and not relevant to anyone planning a heist. The types of doors should be: wood, plastic, aluminium, metal. the frames aswell. then you have normal types, secure types, absurdly secure types and bunker. The wall material can be wood-framing, brick and mortar, brick...

Or you would rather carry a Glock17 or something because your breaching tools on the back of your vest weigh 50+ pounds...

breaching with leverage increasing tools has so much advantages over pyrotechic techniques its not even compared among proffesionals.

Breaching is the opening of something which should be closed to outsiders.
