Armor plate carrier, vest, or chest rig?

Noob question, which one would I get if I wanted to carry magazines and other accessories with me? A armor plate carrier, vest or a chest rig? It seems the armor plate carrier you can put and modify stuff with it. And if I decided to get an armor plate carrier how does the set-up usually look like? ...

Re: H2H Videos

That's exactly how we train in my combative class. At the end of the class my instructor and one class mates put on the suit and pretty much finish the class with a live scenario drill. I still have to buy myself a suit so my other class mates can participate too because I feel bad when it's only my...

Re: FRACTS!

Looks like the F.R.A.C.T system seems to be more selling than teaching. Like how now a days everyone is like a "krav maga instructor" just because that person took a week or 2 week seminar and is fully qualified to teach. As long there aren't more jim wagners or stolen act of valor people teaching p...

Re: Anti-Grab Drills

Yes breaking the grab with the hands going over. I'm assuming if you're in the field, it's pretty much a life or death situation I would just deploy a knife and bye-bye.

Re: Anti-Grab Drills

anti-grab drills specially for helmets? never done a anti-grab drill that involves helmet but i've done drills if someone grabs your hair, and you got to release it. i guess it would be kinda the same thing with a helmet. simplest technique if someone grabs your hair(if you got hair, hahah) is a str...

what's your EDC

Just a little fun topic. What's your EDC? My EDC is pretty basic but gets the job done Image
I alternate between the two watches, g-shock for my really casual wear and the the kenneth cole for a semi casual and formal wear.

Fixed or folding knives?

I'm curious about soldiers or LEOs in the field, do you guys carry fixed knife or a folding knife? I've seen pictures of some soldiers carry folding knife with them when they're on the field. Wouldn't a fixed knife be more reliable and you use it also as a utility tool too. I carry a folding knife s...

Re: that killer instinct

The only thing that I can say is that you have to learn to distance yourself, emotionally from the act, while not becoming emotionless. Otherwise, when you return to "civilized" society, you won't be able to function. Very true. If it was only easy to turn "off" your emotion and turn it back "on" t...

Re: Tactical training in Vancouver, BC Canada

Sure why not I love Florida hahaha. Gives me another reason to visit again. I actually got a response back from Raidon Tactics, and they do accept Canadians and also do gun rentals too. So yeah now I got some options hahah. I'll wait till I finish up with school and will start planning my "vacation"...

Re: that killer instinct

I re-read your post, ryan, and you mentioned about the "target" instead of human, it makes sense that if a commanding officer or your "boss" said engage that target, than in your mind it may be justified because you're doing your job and it's something you got to accomplish. But yes I can see where ...

Re: Tactical training in Vancouver, BC Canada

Yes that website looks like it's catered more to people in the medical fields. Maybe I can pass it along to the doctors or nurses at my work hahah, give them a reality check. I browsed that grey group training website and emailed them. So I'll just have to wait and see if I can train with them.

jimothy_183 and ryan thanks for the response. I read the whole post and it makes sense and good key points, but I'll re-read once I get back from school hahah. I'll definitely look on that book by Lt. Dave Grossman too. Ryan and jimothy_183, have you ever been in that situation? Details aren't neces...

that killer instinct

I'm just curious on the mentality of "killing" or taking a person's life out in the field or doing your duty. For example, if an operative had to take out an enemy quietly with a knife. How does that operative feel about that knife going through that enemy, piercing the skin into vital organs or art...

Re: Tactical training in Vancouver, BC Canada

Yes I checked some U.S. training facilities but by the looks of it, it seems that you need to bring your own gun and equipment to the training centre. I didn't see any rentals for guns. And it seems when I email some training facilities they don't really a give detail answer just a vague response, l...

Tactical training in Vancouver, BC Canada

I don't know if this topic belongs here or in a different section. But does anyone know a place in Vancouver, BC Canada where civilians can train tactical shooting and tactics? I've been researching the web site and from what I gathered is that in the U.S. the training seems it's like the military; ...

Re: Introduction-New Members Post your Intro Here:

Thanks for the welcoming. No worries about the intimidation hahaha. The "intimidation" I'm referring to are the military or special forces people in this forum. Not in a bad way but good way that I have respect for them. But so far I haven't seen any keyboard warriors so it's always a good thing hah...

Re: Introduction-New Members Post your Intro Here:

Finally decided to join this forum. At first I was intimated because it seems this forum is directed to mostly people in the military services or special forces, but just decided to join anyway, hahah. A long time martial artist, recently got into combatives, always had this warrior mentality and al...
