Re: Thoughts on karambit?

Personally, I'm the guy that will always bring a firearm to a knife fight. I'm a HUGE believer in the 21ft rule. If the knife is in evidence and you're past the 21ft mark, I'll have the firearm out at low ready while giving you commands. If you're inside that 21ft span and make an aggressive move to...

Re: Perfect Example of the SAS Principles

Can you please defend your statement, because whe have a dead suspect and a child hostage here? Beyond this one source i mean? My job still requires me to get the suspect alive and in front of a judge in most cases. In my military days i would decide to kill, wound or arrest a suspect. now the deci...

Re: Grenade Question

Depends on the grenade fuse. I'm guessing, depending on the fuse, if you opened your hand and released it or hurled it... Anywhere from 45th to the 40th floor.

Re: Duty pistol thoughts (deputy/patrol)

My duty weapon has always been a Sig Sauer. I carried a Sig P220 .45 in the Army. Now, it's a P226 9mm. I've always trusted Sig and love shooting them for their low recoil and stellar workmanship. I've fired other pistols (Beretta 92F in the Army, the Glock 17, 19 and the 23, the Springfield XD, the...

Re: Recommended night sights for pistol?

I like the tritium. My duty weapon is a Sig Sauer P-226. I prefer their sight setup as opposed to the Glock tritium sights. It seems more intuitive-friendly, to me at least. When it comes to the instinctive snap shooting, anyway.

Re: Thoughts on karambit?

I'm very favorable towards the karambit training. I've done a fair amount of escrima training and have worked with the karambit. I think that you would find it useful.

Re: Recommended night sights for pistol?

I have the tritium sights on my duty weapon. It all depends on your needs. Are you able to attach a tac-light? That might suit your needs best.
I'm gonna move this thread to a more appropriate section on gear.

Limited entry while facing likely or actual opposition is not a cqb technique, its basic survival instinct.

I am a current member of the military. I have spent the vast majority of my career in LRSU where I grew from PVT to DET SGT. I have been fortunate to be led by some of the most professional leaders I believe our military has to offer. My leaders never accepted the status quo and demanded excellence...

Train the way you have to fight

So, I thought this was a good video. It demonstrated something that I try to hammer home in a lot of different areas; CQB, weapon retention, defensive tactics.

Re: I wanted to thank you.

Thanks for answering my question, but let´s stay out of politics further. It´s as far away from CQB as imaginable. You can´t lie or bribe yourself to your objective and safely back unless you´re in politics. Completely agree, sir. I've been neck-deep in the Everglades during Ranger School and felt ...

Re: I wanted to thank you.

I've trained with Russians before, and they are just my kind of people, direct and honest. I don't care much about Vladimir, as long as he doesn't bother me. I'm not in Russia, or a citizen there, so I think I'm good. You're new president is kind of funny, I'm glad he won the elections, because his...

Re: I wanted to thank you.

I won't deny that our President isn't acting very Presidential. I know how he is. I was part of his close protection detail 10 years ago, for 6 months. Nothing that he says or does surprises me. As far as the bot goes, yah. It's quite likely that it's Russian in origin. I don't have anything against...
