Re: Just War Theory (JWT)

The ambiguity of the terms used and what each means is one of the problems with just war theory. I asked this question to someone before: imagine for a second that you are high in the Hindu Kush Mountains of Afghanistan fighting off a Soviet Invasion. You are strapped and armed, ready to defend your...

Just War Theory (JWT)

Do you think a war can be just? If so, how? If not, why?

Re: Your limited entry just tanked, what now?

If there is a prepared enemy who door ambushes the team and you cannot conduct a limited without exposing yourself. Any team should have failed entry procedures OR contested entry procedures. As in, do you grenade it? Do you back off? Do you use an alternate or secondary entry point? Do you send in ...

Unsure mate. We're not airsofters. We have an airsoft section where you could ask though.

Disregarding the warning will cause me not to get any sleep tonight. How do you guys deal with this kind of footage, when you lived through the real thing several times? The whole vicarious suffering thing you have to get past otherwise it will drag you down. Life is not some picture-perfect step-b...

Re: ACT

Then I think you should add "Get someone to call emergency services" pretty high in there somewhere, 911 works on most of the world, the actual number may vary. With your work you must encounter this a lot with any emergency where there is a first responder, but to much of a crisis for him/her to m...

Re: ACT

This is a good subject, but just posting the acronym without explaining any further seems to not do it justice. Its also hard to enter in a discussion when you only post an acronym, and its meaning without going further on the subject or its implementation. I could post: Call 911(or 101, 112, etc.)...

Re: Clearing open rooms in a hallway.

Terminology wise it's direct opposing vs split opposing. One man. Clear as much of one side, close to the wall, then come back and clear the other. Whenever you clear a room from the outside, transition your view to down-hall because that's the next threat area. That's all I can think of because in ...

Re: Shopping Trolleys

Alright. Noise when gunfire is going on is not much of a compromise to me. It's acceptable risk. The way the carts were stacked, as far as I know, was difficult to gain entry - getting trapped and caught. Hence why I was asking. If it was simply a few carts in the way, of course it's easy to move.

The 'helmet fire' and confusion is granted, this was written with hindsight bias. I should have put a disclaimer.
