Re: Syndromes and Phenomenons

Operator Syndrome The tendency for response teams, especially those who are not Special Forces or Special Operations units in the Police or Military, to act all high speed for no apparent reason. Ego pits, draining personalities, "Alpha" negatives. Now I don't know how accurate or fair this is but ...

Re: Research Studies and CQB

We recently did some with Eliran at Project Gecko, who hosted an event called Close Quarter(s) Simulation (CQS). Multiple teams throughout Europe came and we got some good data. Hoping it might be something for a pre-study or CT funding in the future. If anyone knows anything, keep me in the loop.

/r/CQB Subreddit

Hi all, when CQB-TEAM forums were down, I started a subreddit and posted to keep up activity.

It has recently hit a thousand members.

Research Studies and CQB

Hey all, long time. A friend of mine has recently worked with multiple SOF teams around the world at a multiday international counter-terrorism event. He has recorded a bunch of data (in fairly limited scientific way i.e. non-strict measurements, low control of variables). That data is creating a pi...

The New Normal

Hey guys, Jimothy sent me this video: CzbgloZiYuk It looks like limited penetration has become the new standard, the new normal... at least in some units. You will observe limited penetration techniques (and thumb-over-bore) in this video—engaging targets before entering. Typically entering crisscro...

Skateboards, Segways, Individual Mobility Vehicles

"In the 80s-90s we knew the next war was gonna have a megacity. So they started running wargames and figuring out equipment thinking the next war might be Fulda, or Tokyo. They did crazy camo, skateboards, BMX bikes, knee pads, tons of stuff. Most of it didn't stay, but the kneepads and tomahawks di...

Team Value

"Aim to be a zero. In his book, “An Astronaut's Guide to Life on Earth”, Chris Hadfield describes how to join a new team at the International Space Station. He describes every team member being either a minus 1, a zero or a plus one. A minus one is someone who takes from the team’s overall effective...

The Daniel Shaver Case

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_of_Daniel_Shaver The video on this one astounded me. He followed instructions for the most part—to me it looked like when he was crawling, he went to pull at his pants. Multiple shots, excessive. One after the other without verification of threat, excessive. In my...

Re: Femoral Bleedout

He said you can 'inject' the stuff in a small wound, and it can stop an 7,62x39 rounds injury within seconds. Also there are types of tourniquet that fit the pelvic area, to stop blood from flowing from the butt down. Heard about it. I saw a few prototypes years ago. I'm unsure about how reliable i...
