Re: Building/room clearing in a prison setting

Regardless of the setting you are performing CQB operations in, limited entry — slicing the pie, for example — is almost always the best alternative to having the whole squad rushing into the room only to be caught off-guard when they enter the room. Hostage taker releases hostage and is in the buil...

Re: Nutrition

If you want to lose weight, you want to be in a caloric deficit — want to eat less calories than your resting calorie burn number. Cycling/swimming an hour or so seem to be great methods of burning calories. While walking an hour too burns quite a lot of calories, cycling/swimming does more. Try low...

Re: Left of Bang (Patrick Horne, Jason A. Riley)

73% of the readers gave it a five-star rating and 15% of the raters have given it a four-star rating. From reviewing the reviews on the book posted by the readers, most four-star ratings were given either due to the lack of illustrations — due to their purchase of an audio book — or due to lack of (...

Re: Left of Bang (Patrick Horne, Jason A. Riley)

As others have posted in this section — a book and their opinion/review on it — I have listed a book, that I've just only skimmed through, with some details and my review from quick-skimming through it. It's a great read for police officers, security officers, army officers or just a civilian. You c...

Re: Clearing open rooms in a hallway.

I don't mean the double inward opening doors but rather two different doors in the middle of a hallway, both of which are open and directly oppose each other.

Re: Clearing open rooms in a hallway.

Question was proposed during a training session where one-man-tactics were introduced.

I'd replied that realistically an establishment like that wouldn't be cleared by a one man element but wanted more opinions on this, primarily from professionals, as I begun to think about it.

Clearing open rooms in a hallway.

SCENARIO — You're a one man element clearing an establishment and happen to meet a hallway. You must clear the hallway but there are two rooms — both open and doors directly in front of each other — before you reach the other end/clear the hallway. How would you go about clearing the hallway? I have...

Left of Bang (Patrick Horne, Jason A. Riley)

Left of Bang: How the Marine Corps' Combat Hunter Program Can Save Your Life Just got this book — initially just went through the pages without going into the content in depth YET so I'm not done reading the book — and it's a great book so far. The first pages also introduced me to some facts about...

Re: Introduction-New Members Post your Intro Here:

Hello, I am a 15 year old civilian planning to enlist in the army in the future/join a law enforcement agency when I'm old enough. I have a general interest in CQB and tactical units. At present, I often use learnt tactics in video games. I've been on the forums for a year but hadn't made an account...
