Re: Flashbangs in Room Entry

It's to maximise the Surprise affect and confusion factor. Its made so that it seduces everyone in the room to shock. You've got to remember its not just the Hostage takers getting the shock, it's also the same for the Hostages themselves. With the added fact of the actual team going in with the fl...

Re: Flashbangs in Room Entry

If used correctly just like all other assets are a force multiplier. Train as you fight. The idea is you enter on the crash with multi bangs and train that way. This way its not a distraction to you but to THEM. I don't believe in crashing a doorway before you enter. Crash deep because thats where ...

Re: Flashbangs in Room Entry

Well the Flashbang or Stun grenade was created by the SAS and they primarily use that piece of equipment for Hostage rescue. And they only use flashbangs on key rooms such as where the hostages are. You are actually supposed to go in with the flashbang rather than throwing it in then waiting for it ...

Re: The Golden Rules of CQB

I remember the fundamentals of CQB with this quote " The 5 S's and the A, plus the C equals CQB ". The 5 S's stand for: Speed - Don't rush!!! Only go as fast as you can aim and as fast as your team mates can go. Teams can work on this aspect by assessing each team members maximum speed whilst having...

Re: J Hook

I talked to a CQB instructor on YouTube and he says that a "J Hook" is just another term for Buttonhook. And the term J Hook is mainly used in Law Enforcement literature but very uncommon everywhere else. And he says their might be a difference between a buttonhook and a J hook because he says a but...

Re: Comment On Hallway Technique: Cloverleaf

I believe in having maximum fire power and having multiple barrels down range ready to engage threats but that formation just would not work because what if their was one wild spray of a machine gun down the hallway. It would just simply take them all out in one single spray. Plus most houses have v...

Re: Basic Questions: Correct distance to entry point?

This depends on whether you're using an explosive to gain entry. Then obviously you need a safety distance for your stack. But if not obviously your breach man needs to get close to the door but as soon as he has gained entry he should step back within a 20 degree zone from the door to the wall. And...

Re: Glass Houses & How To Use Them?

Special Forces mainly use Glass Houses to reconstruct the building they've just done reconnaissance on. So say like the SAS and the Iranian embassy siege, they drilled microphones in the walls to get to know where the hostages were, plus they also had the floor plans of the embassy. Once you've got ...

I found out about this site a few years ago by just typing in CQB into Google. But I have known about this site for a long time, so I thought yesterday that I should sign up. :D

Hello, my name is Aidan and I am 15 years old. I love martial arts such as Systema and krav maga or basically any martial art with some form of knife and gun disarms.
