Re: Pistol retention gone WRONG or how Sul isn't safe
Good article by a great guy. Kyle is a humble, non-egotistical student of the art. I use the SUL position when the situation calls for it. While "looking for work" it isn't possible to NOT sweep other unless the muzzle is pointed down. SUL accomplishes that. Once "work" is found - then go to low rea...

Re: Why is the M4 so popular?
The SCAR is pretty nice. It is balanced incredibly well. Recoil impulse is different than an M4 or an AK. Controls are completely ambi - which I really like. Very reliable. I would take into harms way with zero reservations.

Re: "They use whatever they want"
In my experience - most of the *true* SF types that have been the game for more than a couple years don't really care what long arm you put in their hands. I know I don't really care what long (rifle/carbine) or short (handgun) you give me - I either already know how to run it, or I will figure it o...

Re: Safety [ON] or [OFF]
Short answer - it depends. Long answer: My experience is that is also depends upon the situational environment, What I mean by that is when operating in .mil or as a contractor in a combat environment with men that have honed skills, mindset and tactics - running safety off is no big deal. However -...

Re: The Laymans Primer to Movement
Great article on an often neglected subject. I have taught that there is a very distinct difference between moving and maneuvering. I teach to NEVER move - rather ALWAYS maneuver. It dovetails nicely with the .pdf you posted. http://tireironscorner.blogspot.com/2010/03/move-vs-manuever.html cheers t...

"Ryan" suggested that I join this board...he has visited my blog and apparently liked what he saw. Thank you Ryan! I am former USMC - active duty for 6 years - 4 of which was spent in Special Operations. I did a couple of tours as a contractor/trainer. I have done some PPD work domestically (USA). I...
