I agree, wholeheartedly. Fundamentals practiced over and over until they're second nature can be applied in any fashion. That's all "advanced techniques" are.

This guy is just dead on. So often, even experienced professionals build up bad shooting habits. Watch this video and reinforce the basics of good shooting.

I don't think that I saw this post originally back in 2014. LOL. Wow, this was an EXCELLENT post. I wish that I had seen this at the time. I was constantly seeing crap on Youtube. I don't bother with it, anymore. Kudos to you, Jim, for coming up with that appellation, "Tactical Pied Pipers", nail on...

That was a pretty good analysis. I've known a few -1s in my time. They're on every team until, the leader weeds them out.

Yup, same. My gf's parents, who we had moved in to take care of back in 2011, are both dead now. Her dad had passed in Oct. '15, actually. Her mom kept fighting until last March 22. He was 95 when he passed and she was just shy of her 96th birthday by 37 days. We had started buying a new house of ou...

Re: Special Tactics - CQB Book
Someone asked me recently to look it over. Amazon wants $10 to download it on Kindle. I told the person that wanted me to read it, to buy me a hard cover version and I would do so. He acted offended that I wanted him to spend his agency's funds on purchasing it. Oh well.

He "researched SWAT tactics": http://www.news.com.au/world/north-america/las-vegas-gunman-acted-alone-studied-swat-tactics-before-deadly-attack-report/news-story/ae070fc4a1b261658b6b01ed09aa188a. Possibility that he used or found this forum? Possibly but, I think it more likely that he went to that...

Yup. Brailsford screwed the pooch there. I'm wondering how much time he had in LE besides his 2 years with that department...? He seemed wound a bit tight.

Another shooting-Las Vegas
Stephen Paddock, 64, shot and wounded at least 200 at a concert on the Las Vegas Strip, Oct 1, 2017, killing 50. This will no doubt reverberate throughout the U.S. and provoke another discussion about civilian ownership of firearms.
