Re: Hypothetical

Yes the trip would be somewhat lengthy, probably 3+ hours road time. Also, target would be moving at night like you mentioned. I like the idea of the "call of nature" time being used to seperate the child from the HVT... I suppose if you could somehow anticipate a likely location (some small rest st...

Hypothetical

*Note: This is not neccessarily a "CQB" situation (although invovling extracting targets from a vehicle, so close-in action would be taken). But, I thought I would get the opinions and ideas from the tactical-minded folks here on cqb-team. Situation: You have an HVT whose been underground for a few ...

I've been practicing Shorin-ryu Karate for 10 years now, and will say that it's basic moves work well with or without gear on. Since it is mostly based around quick strikes and grapples like arm, shoulder, and wrist locks it can be used effectively in many situations.

My team train to start in a rigid formation, and try to keep it when possible, but practice in each position. This way, we can quickly transfer over to a fluid formation. All around, a well trained fluid formation will work better than a well trained element only use to a rigid formation.

I appreciate the replies. The tactic that you described had crossed my mind, but seemed too risky. I guess that's really about all you could do (disregarding other variables).

Yeah, I definently see how det cord would be better, but I think the operators used the flashbang because it was quicker.

Yeah, I already knew about that. But what if the terrorist is non-negotiable?

Hostage Rescue

What would be the best way to deal with a hostage wearing a bomb-vest, and the terrorist has a dead-man's trigger (if he let's go of the button, the hostage goes BOOM!).

I've been trying to think of a tactic for this for a while now, but nothing to promising has come up.

Flashbang vs. Windows

In the book: Rainbow Six, the operators place flashbangs right next to the windows, which break when the grenade goes off.

Is this realistic? Would a flashbang placed directly next to a window smash it enough for an operator to enter through?

Delta vs. SAS

I know there's a thousand arguments over this type of subject, but I felt like bringing it up anyway.
If you were in a hostage situation, which would you rather trust with your life? (Try to disregard nationality)
Delta or SAS?

I'm am currently a high school student, and the leader of a Milsim Airsoft team. Our team name is "Airsoft Strike Force", and we've been playing and training for about 2+ years. I work out, lifting weights and running, and have been training in Shorin-ryu Karate for about 10 years now. After high sc...
